Nurses need wellness too

I’m am still feeling the love from a wellness retreat for St. Louis Metro area School Nurses. This Gift was the amazing idea of Maxine Clark founder and Former CEO of Build-a-Bear, and Dr. L. J. Punch Trauma Surgeon and Advocate for urban trauma.

Such a lovely event needs to be shared so we sent an open invitation to school nurses in our area for a retreat and luncheon featuring massage, acupuncture aromatherapy, music therapy and relaxation. 2 – 45 min session with a light lunch. To our surprise there were gift boxes for self care with scented oils stone bracelets (who doesn’t love jewelry) note cards, incense, socks, herbal tea, or kombucha, etc… a foot scrub and little plastic tub for self pedicure. We felt special, and the session was everything. As you can see from the photos a lot of us had a chance to just really relax and unwind. A nice little break before state reports, coughs, colds, and COVID. Much needed after the last few years. We got to laugh, and talk, make new friends, and make memories. Here is hoping we are continuing this tradition and practice self care for a lifetime.
